Ventelator weaning process step 1

The past two days Karlien was admitted for ventelation weaning. Doctor were very happy with Karliens progress as she did manage to breath on her own and only use the ventelator as support for a few hours. We are weaned down to lower support she is doing well. Next step in 3 months time is to wean more off to CPAP. When we achieve CPAP next step will be to be off the ventelator permanently. Being on lower support is a big victory and we are greatful for Gods blessing over Karlien. It was great seeing all the ICU staff again but we are happy to be home and continue our rehabilitation process. We are very proud of her!
